How Shotgun Fantasy Works
Shotgun Fantasy is bracket daily fantasy sports: one roster against one opponent, in a tournament bracket. Draft your team, win your matchup, and advance — no experts entering 500 lineups against you.
1. Join a bracket
Enter a public bracket or a private one your friends set up. Brackets are algorithm-balanced, so you compete against real peers at your level — not professional volume players. Seasons are short by design: 7-day or 30-day mini-seasons, with no long-term commitment.
2. Draft live, on the clock
Every contest starts with a real-time draft room. The clock runs, the board moves, and you build your squad pick by pick against the same opponents you'll face in the bracket. When someone takes your target, you adjust — that's the game.
3. Win your head-to-head matchup
Each round is one roster against one opponent. Your players' real-world performance scores your lineup; beat the manager across from you and you move on. Live lineup adjustments and tactical trades mid-matchup keep you in the driver's seat, and every contest has a built-in chat room for talking your trash in real time.
4. Advance through the bracket and win
Win and advance; lose and the run ends. Payout structures are built to reward the top 40% of contestants — not just the top 1% — so a deep bracket run pays even when you don't take the whole thing.
What makes bracket DFS different?
Traditional daily fantasy pits your lineup against thousands of entries at once, where high-volume professionals dominate. A bracket is a sequence of fair fights: one opponent at a time, everyone drafting from the same player pool in the same room. It plays more like a tournament than a lottery.
